Parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but for growth. To achieve this she wrote her first original compositions. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. After her mother said that the songs she wrote might not make her famous but instead to inspire people to see their own value and impact to our world at large, she began playing them on stage. Her mother suggested that she be able to perform her music publicly in order to help people realize the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family until she was fourteen. It was never a dream to be Aurora. Her sole passion is to compose music. She says that music is her favorite way of feeling something.
